Who can forget the countless hours you spent as a kid trying to rescue the princess or break off the game winning touchdown? Collecting gold rings or questing to save the earth? Video games in the U.S. are a huge business, and Americans have been fortunate to have experienced some of the most incredibe games(and the characters who start in them)ever created. Can you guess what the best selling game of all time is?

Could it be one of the legendary Madden games from EA? Nice try, but no dice…

Surely, it has to be the iconic plumber Mario and everyone’s childhood favorite, Super Mario Bros? Wrong again, (and don’t call me “Surely”)

Halo? Sonic the Hedgehog? Mortal Kombat? Tekken? Street Fighter 2? Final Fantasy? Pokemon?

Nope..you’d think but no..uh-uh…good guess but no…nah…no way Jose..Pokemon????

Without further ado, we present the top-selling video game in U.S. history…Call of Duty: Black Ops!

According to AdAge.com, “”Call of Duty: Black Ops” again sold more copies in stores than any other video game last month, continuing an impressive run dating back to its November release and making it the best-selling video game in U.S. history, according to NPD Group research.”

Not bad for a game roundly panned early on by fanboys worldwide…GAME ON
